Connecting ResearcherID with ORCID
You may have chosen to associate your ResearcherID with ORCID during the registration process, but if you haven’t done so, this can also be done at any point. Note that before you can do this your ORCID record needs to be set to ‘public’.
Connecting ResearcherID and ORCID can be done either in ORCID or in Publons. You can choose either option in the activity below to link ResearcherID and ORCID.
Activity
Option 1 – To link ResearcherID from your ORCID record
- Sign in to ORCID and in your ORCID record, select ‘Add works’ and ‘Search & link’.
- Select ResearcherID from the list and login using the ResearcherID username and password you created earlier in this module.
- Follow the instructions on screen to exchange Profile data or publications information.
Option 2 – To link ORCID from your ResearcherID in Publons
- Go to ‘Permissions Settings’ and select “Link your ORCID” and follow the steps as prompted.
- Once ORCID is linked, go to permissions settings page and choose option to ‘Grant Publons permission to update your ORCID works’ and then authorise.
- Choose “Export Publications to ORCID now”.
